Jasmine Barreto Wins 800 Meters At Final Exam Classic

QUEENS, N.Y. -
The St. John's track and field team hosted the Final Exam Classic at DaSilva Memorial Field on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Jasmine Barreto (Staten Island, N.Y.) captured first place in the 800 meter run, clocking in at 2:17.25.
Meanwhile, sophomore Dominique Eason (Baldwin, N.Y.) won the shot put with a throw 10.03 meters.
In the long jump, sophomore Johana Kernizan (Brooklyn, N.Y) took second place with leap of 4.36 meters while sophomore Geraldine Brevil (Brooklyn, N.Y) finished in third with a mark of 4.17 meters. Meanwhile in the triple jump, Brevil recorded a performance of 9.33 meters for second place.
During the competition, Barreto and six other senior members of the Red Storm were honored for their achievements and contributions over the past four years.
St. John's returns to action this weekend in Princeton, N.J. for the ECAC Championships.
