Red Storm Track and Field Alumni Compete Internationally

Two St. John???s track and field alumni competed internationally this summer. Blessing Egwu represented Nigeria at the African Championships while Kaydian Reid represented Jamaica in a competition in Malles, Italy.
Egwu captured a bronze medal in the hammer throw at the 15th Africa Senior Athletics Championships in Bambous, Mauritius earlier this month. She threw the weight 51.77 meters (169???8 ??").
Reid crossed the line in the 400 meter dash in late July in Malles, Italy, setting a personal record with a time of 52.11 seconds. Her mark is the 85th fastest performance in the world this year in the event.
