The freshman was 3-of-8 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line, while leading the team with eight rebounds.
Overall, St. John's shot a season-best 54.3 percent from the field, including a 57.1 percent effort in the second half. A potent Vermont offense that averaged 45.0 percent from the field entering the contest was held to 37.0 percent in the game.
The Red Storm opened the game strong, going on a 10-2 run to force Vermont to call a timeout. The Catamounts came out of the break and scored four-straight points, but St. John's responded with a 12-4 run over the next seven minutes to take a 22-10 lead.
