QUEENS, N.Y. -
• Freshman forward Da'Shena Stevens swatted a DePaul jumper at 18:05 in the first half, giving her at least one block in 10 of 18 games this season.
• With an assist to Joy McCorvey at 5:03 in the first, Stevens tied a career high with her third assist of the game..
• Stevens was the first player from either team to crack the double-digit mark in the game, hitting a jumper at 15:56 in the second to give her 10 points and the Red Storm a 39-36 lead.
• Freshman Brittany Murphy's steal at 14:00 in the second was her second of the game, tying a career high.
• The Red Storm trailed 11-7 at 15:26, but went on an 8-2 run to take the lead at 10:31 when Sky Lindsay drained a 3, her second of the game.
• After the Blue Demons came within one at 43-42, Lindsay hit a fastbreak jumper followed by a 3-pointer to push the St. John's lead to six.
• Lindsay's 3 at 9:48 in the second half gave her 14 points in the game, a season high.
• With the score at 19-16 with 8:27, St. John's used an 8-0 run to push the score to 24-16 when Kelly McManmon drilled a trey at 7:31, her second of the game.
• St. John's trailed 59-57 with 1.2 seconds left, when Aricia Mitchell was intentionally fouled. Mitchell made a free throw to cut the DePaul lead to 59-58.
• The Red Storm boasted three players in double digits for the second-straight game. Stevens and Lindsay had 14, while senior Monique McLean chipped in with 11.
• St. John's led DePaul 6-1 in second chance points.
• The Red Storm bench outscored the Blue Demons, 7-2.
