QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's baseball freshman Joe Panik has been named a second team freshman All-American as announced by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Panik added 11 doubles, four triples and five home runs for a .513 slugging percentage and ranked fourth on the squad with a .426 on-base percentage. The freshman had 19 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI games.
