Lampa/Wallensteen Duo Claims Doubles Title At USTA Invitational

FLUSHING, N.Y. - Mike Lampa and Derek Wallensteen won three matches en route to their victory in the final match of the C-Doubles bracket as the St. John's men's tennis team competed at the USTA Invitational on Sept. 25-27.
Milo Hauk reached the semifinals in A-Singles after winning three matches in the invitational. Hauk also advanced to the third round in A-Doubles with partner Pavel Cerny. Cerny fell in the C-Singles quarterfinals after struggling with an injury in the early rounds.
Lampa competed in D-Singles where he continued his success, winning the bracket in four matches without surrendering in a set.
Keith Whittingham and Martin Kosut competed in B-Doubles, where the pair advanced to the third round.
St. John's will continue play on Oct. 9-11 in the Columbia Invite in New York, N.Y.
