QUEENS, N.Y. - After three-consecutive top-ten finishes in international competition, St. John's junior Dagmara Wozniak is now ranked 10th in the world, according to the International Fencing Federation.
Wozniak earned a fifth-place finish at the England Cup in London on Jan. 30 and followed that performance by placing eighth at the Orleans Grand Prix in Orleans, France on Feb. 5. The junior posted a seventh-place finish at the Fencing World Cup on Feb. 14 in Moscow.
"Dagmara has shown a lot of consistency with three-straight top-eight finishes at World Cup competitions and now she's ranked 10th in the world, which is really great for her," St. John's head coach Yury Gelman said.
The Red Storm fencing team returns to action on Saturday at the Temple Invitational in Philadelphia, before heading to Brown University in Providence, R.I., for the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships.
