The Red Storm men competed to finish third overall as Adham Moataz reaches the saber title bout
The Red Storm received the bronze medal, placing third overall in the men's standings with 63 points, finishing behind only Notre Dame and Columbia. St. John's was led by a strong showing in saber with 29 points, while foil contributed 19 and epee added 15.
The third-place finish marks the Johnnies' highest overall finish at the championships since 2013, while the bronze medal is the program's first since the NCAA Championships began awarding separate team titles for men's and women's competitions.
The Red Storm's success was further highlighted by three All-American selections, as Adham Moataz earned First-Team honors while Vlad Covaliu and Jan Nowak garnered Honorable Mention recognition.
Moataz delivered a standout performance in men's saber, finishing as the national runner-up. The junior totaled 17 victories in pool play before defeating top-seeded William Morrill of Columbia in the semifinal round. Morrill entered the direct elimination bracket with a field-best 21 wins. Moataz fell to Notre Dame's Ahmed Hesham, 15-12, in the championship bout.
Covaliu also competed in saber, finishing 10th overall with 12 victories.
In men's foil, two Johnnies made their NCAA Championships debut. Nowak placed 10th overall with 12 victories, while Sebastian Garcia added seven wins.
