Lee Ties For 71st At NCAA Central Regional

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - St. John's freshman Harin Lee shot a 6-over 78 in Saturday's final round of the 2011 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Central Regional at Warren Golf Course and finished tied for 71st.
Lee, who started on the front nine, finished at 80-76-78--234 (+18). She birdied the par-4 13th hole and finished with five birdies in the regional.
The regional was lightning delayed two hours and 12 minutes with play resuming at 5:10 p.m. (Eastern Time). The eight teams advancing to the NCAA Championships are UCLA (+26), LSU (+30), Minnesota (+33), Arkansas (+35), Notre Dame (+37) Ohio State (+41), Stanford (+44) and Wake Forest (+45). Duke's Lindy Duncan (+6) and Tulane's Maribel Lopez Porras (+7, playoff win) earned the two individual qualifying spots.
Lee finishes her freshman year with a 75.37 round average over 11 events and 27 rounds. She won the BIG EAST Women's Golf individual championship and was named BIG EAST Freshman of the year. Lee totaled three wins on the year, including victories in the EKU El Diablo Intercollegiate and Brown Bear Invitational. She posted nine top-10 finishes in 11 events, including eight top-5s and seven top-3s. Her 4-under 68 in the second round of the Brown Bear Invitational is the lowest round in St. John's women's golf history and her 7-uner 137 in that tournament is also a school record. Lee was the fist St. John's women's golfer to compete in the NCAA Regionals.
