Updating The 2015 MLB Draft Class

QUEENS, N.Y. - Five of the Red Storm's record-tying six 2015 MLB Draft picks signed professional contracts and each has made their professional debut.
Cody Stashak (13th round, 380th overall) signed with the Minnesota Twins, while Matt Clancy (13th round, 395th overall) came to terms with the Seattle Mariners. Ryan McCormick (16th round, 467th overall) signed with the Colorado Rockies, Tyler Sanchez (17th round, 498th overall) reached a deal with the Texas Rangers and Alex Katz (27th round, 802nd overall) signed a contract with the Chicago White Sox.
Thomas Hackimer, who was selected by the New York Mets (15th round, 449th overall), did not sign. A Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star this summer, Hackimer is 1-1 with five saves and a 0.64 ERA in 12 relief appearances for the Brewster Whitecaps. The righty has 19 strikeouts in 14.0 innings of work.
Pitching for the Elizabethton Twins of the Rookie Appalachian League, Stashak is 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA in four starts. The righty has 21 strikeouts in 21.0 innings of work, while allowing just a .205 opponent average. Stashak had four strikeouts in 4.0 scoreless frames in his professional debut on June 28.
Clancy is 1-1 with one save and a 1.50 ERA in nine relief appearances for the Everett AquaSox of the Class-A Short Season Northwest League. The lefty has 16 strikeouts in 12.0 innings of work and has limited the opposition to a .222 batting average. Clancy tossed 1.0 scoreless frame in his debut on June 20 and opened his career with seven-straight scoreless appearances.
Assigned to the Boise Hawks of the Class-A Short Season Northwest League, McCormick has made four appearances, two starts, and has gone 0-0 with a 6.35 ERA. The righty has six strikeouts in 11.1 innings of work. McCormick tossed 3.0 shutout frames in his debut on June 28.
Sanchez has seen action in 15 games for the Spokane Indians of the Class-A Short Season Northwest League. The catcher is batting .269 (14-for-52) with seven doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI. Sanchez, who made his debut on June 19, has a .577 slugging percentage to go with a .377 on-base percentage.
After debuting on June 22 with the AZL White Sox of the Rookie Arizona League, Katz is now with the Great Falls Voyagers of the Rookie Pioneer League. The lefty made six appearances for the AZL squad and went 0-1 with one save and a 4.00 ERA in 9.0 innings of work. Katz added nine strikeouts with his first team and held the opposition to a .206 opponent average.
