Hackimer Garners Third Team ABCA All-America Honors

QUEENS, N.Y. - First team ABCA All-Northeast Region honoree Thomas Hackimer has garnered third team ABCA All-America honors as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
A third team Collegiate Baseball Newspaper All-American, Hackimer has also earned both first team Senior CLASS Award All-America honors and first team CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades.
The first reliever to win BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year honors since 2005, Hackimer was a unanimous first team All-BIG EAST selection and earned first team CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. Hackimer was also a semifinalist for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy.
Selected by the Minnesota Twins in the fourth round (123rd overall) of the 2016 MLB Draft, Hackimer went 7-3 with eight saves and a 1.17 ERA in 28 appearances as a senior this past season. The reliever had 71 strikeouts in 53.2 innings of work and allowed just a .133 opponent batting average.
In 26 appearances in the regular season, Hackimer was 7-1 with eight saves and a 0.72 ERA. The reliever racked up 67 strikeouts in 49.2 innings of work and held the opposition to just a .094 batting average.
