Wang fired a final round three-under 69 to finish in first place
Linda Wang claimed her second first-place finish of the 2018 campaign at the Brown Bear Invitational on Monday, turning in a two-under 142 after 36 holes of play at Ledgemont Country Club in Seekonk, Mass.
"Linda had a great round today," St. John's Women's Golf Head Coach Ambry Bishop said. "It was exciting to see her capture another individual title. It has been great to see multiple players finish at the top in each tournament."
Coming off of her third top-15 showing of the season at the Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate, Wang continued her stellar effort at the Brown Bear Invitational. The Fresh Meadows native turned in a final round three-under 69 on Monday after a bogey-free front-nine effort highlighted by a pair of birdies on the par-five first and seventh holes. As a team, the Red Storm turned in a two-round 613 (+37) to finish in seventh place. Princeton earned the team title with a two-round score of 589 (+13).
The St. John's women's golf team will return to action on Oct. 21 for their final tournament of the fall slate, with a trip to Bethlehem, Pa., for the Lehigh Invitational.
