Shee fired a final-round 75 to finish in first place
Led by Kaitleen Shee's first individual championship of the 2018 season, the St. John's women's golf team finished fourth overall at the Lehigh Invitational Monday at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.
"Kaitleen played great this weekend in tough weather conditions," St. John's head coach Ambry Bishop said. "I am so happy for her, earning another career individual title."
Coming into Monday pacing the field by two shots, Shee fired off a final-round 75 to maintain her spot atop the leaderboard and earn medalist honors. The Irvine, Calif., native recorded 22 pars and drained five birdies over 36 holes.
Shee wasn't the only Johnnie with a stellar performance, Lydia Kim and Linda Wang both finished in the top-25 for St. John's after carding an 80 and 84, respectively, in the final round of play. Kim turned in a total 160, highlighted by five birdies to finish 14th, while Wangs's 163 earned her a finish in a tie for 21st.
Andrea Sanchez and Sofie Huseby rounded out the scoring for the Red Storm, posting a 167 and 188.
As the cold fronts begin to move in, the St. John's women's golf team polishes off its fall schedule for 2018 and will take the next few months to prepare for its upcoming spring tournaments.
