The Johnnies will tee off at 9:40 a.m. on Friday
The St. John's women's golf team will return to the links on Friday, October 5 for the first of three rounds of golf at the 2018 Yale Women's Intercollegiate.
Linda Wang enters play on the heels of a top-five finish at the Boston College Intercollegiate where she carded a three-round eight-over 224. The Fresh Meadows native has now finished in the top-five in both tournaments this season and will look to build off of that momentum on Friday by starting in the No. 1 slot for St. John's. Junior Kaitleen Shee will be playing as the No. 2 golfer while Andrea Sanchez, and Sofie Huseby round out the lineup.
This will be the programs first time competing in the event since the fall of 2010 when former St. John's golfer, Harrin Lee closed out the tournament with a third place finish.
The three-round, 54-hole event will be played Friday-Sunday (Oct. 5-7) at the Yale University Golf Course. The first round of play will begin Friday at 9:40 a.m. on the par-71, 6,093 yard course.
Yale University Golf Course was designed by champion golfer and co-founder of the USGA Charles Blair Macdonald, the par-71, 6,093-yard Yale Golf Course is an exemplar of the early American golf course and has consistently been voted the number one college golf course in America.
In addition to St. John's and host Yale, the field is comprised of 16 other teams including: Albany, Boston College, Boston University, Brown, Hartford, Harvard, Hofstra, LIU Brooklyn, Navy, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Stirling and Wagner. BIG EAST foes Butler and Seton Hall, are also a part of the 18-team field.
Results will be posted each day to RedStormSports.com following play.
