St. John's Falls, 4-3, at Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Riding an eight-match winning streak, the St. John's men's tennis team fell, 4-3, to Brown on Monday afternoon in Providence, R.I.
The Johnnies carried a 3-2 lead into the final two singles matches, but the Bears mounted a comeback for the victory.
Brown won the opening doubles match from the No. 3 position, but Luka Sucevic and Alan Nunez Aguilera responded with a 6-4 victory from the top spot to send all eyes to the No. 2 court for the doubles point.
The Bears triumphed by a 6-4 score of their own to claim the doubles point and carry a 1-0 lead into singles play.
St. John's quickly evened the score when Aguilera won the opening match in solo play with a 6-4, 6-3 score at the No. 2 position.
After Brown replied with a hard-fought victory from the No. 4 position, the Johnnies rattled off back-to-back wins to inch just a single victory shy of claiming the dual match.
Andrei Crapcenco won the opener with a pair of tough victories. The junior won the opening set, 6-4, before rallying for a 7-5 victory to sweep the match at the No. 3 spot.
On the top court, Sucevic rallied out of 0-1 hole to claim his ninth-straight win from the No. 1 position. The Serbian rebounded for a 6-2 victory in the second set and rolled to a 6-3 triumph in the tiebreaker for a 3-2 Red Storm lead.
The Bears pieced together back-to-back wins of their won to complete the comeback and captured the dual-match victory, 4-3.
St. John's returns to action on Mar. 24 when the Johnnies open BIG EAST play against Marquette.
