The Red Storm cross country team will compete in its third meet of the season on Saturday at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University.
This marks the second-straight season the Johnnies have ran the invitational, after finishing in a tie for 13th place at the event in 2017.
"We are looking forward to the Paul Short Invitational as it is one of the premier cross country meets in the country each year," Head Coach Jim Hurt said. "Our team will be tested over the 6,000m course against a large field of runners that will provide great experience for the championship meets next month."
St. John's last ran on Sept. 15 at the NYIT Invitational, where they finished second behind Fordham by a single point. Stephanie Gerland finished second in that event followed by Therese Gallagher and Jaqueline Gallagher. Antonia Howard did not run in that event but she did lead the Red Storm in the team's first meet of the season.
"Ant Howard and Stephanie Gerland have been running up front for us, and Tess & Jackie Gallagher were our 3 & 4 runners in our first two meets," Hurt said. "Shannon Page, Nicole McCarthy, and Melissa Greaves complete our top seven. We will see how good we can be with good races from each of our ladies."
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
