Friday's game against Long Beach State (3-3) is slated to begin at 10 p.m. ET and can be streamed on Big West TV. Fans can access Sunday's tilt with Pepperdine (1-4), scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. ET, on TheW.TV.
The Red Storm (3-3) enters its match with the 49ers on Friday on the heels of a 2-1 week. On Sunday, BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, Zsani Kajan recorded the team's first hat trick since Rachel Daly scored three times in a 4-0 win over Creighton in 2015 to top Stony Brook, 5-1. Lucy Whipp registered her third goal of the season with the game winner in Sunday's match, while Samie Scaffidi tallied her first goal of the campaign.
Kajan strung together a stellar three-game stretch, recording five goals and 11 points to earn her BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and national recognition from TopDrawerSoccer, finding an honorable mention spot on the website's Team of the Week. The Budapest, Hungary, native now has a total six goals and 13 points on the season, to lead the BIG EAST in both statistical categories.
Goalkeeper Jordan Kamp was also recognized by the league for her efforts between the pipes last week. The redshirt sophomore earned a spot on the conference honor roll after posting a 1-0-0 record last week. Kamp picked up her first win of the season in St. John's 5-1 victory over Stony Brook on Sunday night. The Allentown, Pa., native has made 10 saves in five games for the Johnnies this season.
St. John's and Long Beach State have met once in the history of the two programs when Long Beach traveled to Queens last season. In the two team's lone matchup, the 49ers held off the Johnnies, 1-0, at Belson Stadium. Sunday's contest with Pepperdine will mark the first meeting between the two programs.
Long Beach State enters play just outside of the Top-25 after receiving votes in the NCAA Coaches Poll. The 49ers enter Friday's contest with a solid group of defensive players. The 49ers have allowed only five goals in six games this season, including a pair of shutouts.
