St. John’s Sweeps Fairleigh Dickinson, 7-0

The 7-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson marks the Red Storm’s third sweep of the season.
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's Tennis team (6-3) won its second-straight match early Thursday morning, sweeping Fairleigh Dickinson, 5-2, at the USTA National Tennis Center.
In doubles action, the Red Storm and the Knights traded wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 matches. After Luka Sucevic and Andrei Crapcenco dropped their match, 7-5, in the No. 1 match, Aditya Vashistha and Ognjen Trejgut forced a third match for the doubles point, winning the No. 3 match, 6-1.
The duo of Alan Nunez Aguilera and Charlie James clinched the doubles point for the Johnnies, winning the No. 2 match over Moric Budinszky and Maciej Autuch, 6-3.
In singles play, the Red Storm earned its first point of the match with a quick (6-2, 6-2) triumph in the No. 4 match by Udayan Bhakar over Autuch.
Trejgut dominated in the No. 1 singles match as he outlasted Fairleigh Dickinson's Mehdi Dhouib, (6-2, 6-2), giving the Johnnies a 2-1 lead.
James and Alex Roszkowski also claimed straight-set victories in their respective No. 3 and No. 6 matches against Budinszky (6-2, 6-4) and Eduardo Cabral (6-3, 6-1).
Daniel Skripnik and Igor Maslov both won their singles matches in three sets over Andris Gudins (6-7, 6-3, 11-9) and Ivan Solans Diaz (3-6, 6-3, 6-2), respectively.
The Red Storm returns to action on Sunday, March 3, to take on Princeton in the Garden State at 11 a.m.
