QUEENS, N.Y. (Jan. 29, 2020) – The St. John's track & field team heads to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island for the Metropolitan Indoor Championships this Thursday and Friday.
The Red Storm will compete in 22 events across the two-day meet against some of the top teams in the greater New York area. Last season, St. John's placed second overall with 123 points.
Leah Anderson will participate in her first 4x400-meter relay of 2020 along with Avon Samuels, Brianna Burkley and Skyy Diop. The team will look to repeat last year's first-place finish in the event after posting a time of 3:46.95.
The Johnnies' foursome will compete in five individual events combined.
Anderson will also return to the 60-meter dash since recording a time of 7.56 at the Penn 8-Team Select on Jan. 18. The junior sprinter's mark ranks second on the BIG EAST leaderboard this season.
