CUMBERLAND, R.I. (Feb. 16, 2020) – The St. John's men's tennis team picked up its second victory of the weekend and tenth win of the 2020 campaign on Sunday, defeating Bryant, 4-1, at Fore Court.
The Red Storm clinched the doubles point in comeback fashion, winning bouts on the No. 1 and 3 courts after losing the first contest in the No. 2 slot. After Igor Maslov and Ignacio Garcia fell in their No. 2 tilt, Charlie James and Aditya Vashistha knocked off Bryant's Grant Pertile/Alexander Schou, 6-4, in the No. 3 slot. St. John's claimed the second doubles triumph on the No. 1 court as Djuro Opacic and Louis-nils Michel defeated Wilson Dong and J.I. Ortiz-Garcia, 7-6.
The Bulldogs leveled the match at one point apiece with a Guido Argentini straight-set victory over Michel in the No. 2 singles contest.
No. 40 Aditya Vashistha earned the Johnnies' first singles triumph of the day, bouncing Wilson Dong in the No. 1 slot, 6-4, 7-6.
