St. John's Earns Six Selections to All-BIG EAST Track & Field Team

Student-athletes earn all-conference honors by placing in the top three at the championship meet
QUEENS, N.Y. (March 5, 2020) – After capturing six podium spots and three conference titles at the 2020 BIG EAST Indoor Championships, the St. John's track and field team saw six Johnnies named to the All-BIG EAST Team.
The Red Storm placed fourth overall with 98 points.
Junior sprinter Leah Anderson led the charge for St. John's, earning all-conference honors in three events for the second straight season.
Anderson was named the BIG EAST Most Outstanding Women's Co-Performer in track events and the conference's High Point Performer of the meet, thanks to a pair of gold medals in the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash. The Mount Vernon, N.Y., went on to help lead St. John's to a 4x400-meter relay title after grabbing a first-place finish with a time of 3:40.45.
Skyy Diop, Brianna Burkley and Avon Samuels also earned spots on the All-BIG EAST Team for their performances in the 4x400-meter relay.
Senior Amarys Berry and junior Samantha Morillo made the all-league team after placing second and third, respectively, in the shot put.
The final all-conference selection for the Red Storm came in the 60-meter dash as Onassha Rogers secured a bronze medal with a time of 7.68.
