St. John's to Participate in Columbia Autumn Invitational

The St. John's men's golf team will participate in its seventh event of the fall slate on Oct. 11 as the Johnnies make a trip to Kingston, N.Y., for the Columbia Autumn Invitational.

The one-day, 36-hole event will be played at Wiltwyck Golf Club. All teams are scheduled to tee off in an 8 a.m. shotgun start on the par-72 6,685-yard track.

Freshman Peicheng Chen, who led the Johnnies and placed 15th overall in the standings at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse last week, enters Monday's event as the team's number one golfer.

Senior Jack Simon and junior Gage Wolfle are slotted in the second and third positions. Classmates Joseph Busiello and Tyler Gerbavsits will round out the five-man lineup for St. John's.

The 12-team field will include Bryant, host school Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Harvard, Iona, Lehigh, Manhattan, St. John's, Saint Peter's and St. Thomas Aquinas.

Live scoring will be available via Golfstat and results will be posted to RedStormSports.com at the conclusion of the day.
