In the final, another close match saw the duo edge BIG EAST foes Julieanne Bou and Leonie Hoppe of UConn, 8-7 (4).
In addition to her doubles title, Nielsen rallied to secure a victory in singles play over Marist's Deana Giambo, 6-7, 7-6, 10-7. The Sacramento State transfer dropped her next contest to eventual Super Regionals qualifier Julia Haynes of Columbia.
The Johnnies went up against 19 other schools from New York and New England. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the event was played at two locations, West Point and Philadelphia. The top eight singles finishers and four doubles teams earned a spot in the ITA Super Regionals to be played at Princeton University on Oct. 15-18.
