Washington, D.C. (Feb. 27, 2021) – St. John's fell to No. 5 Georgetown, 19-1, on Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field.
Mike Madsen scored the Red Storm's lone goal of the afternoon late in the first quarter. The marker was his sixth of the season, tied for the team lead.
Junior netminder Brody Agres collected 11 saves between the pipes. Gavin Catalano played 15 minutes and made three stops.
Georgetown graduate student Nicky Petkvich scored a game-high four goals and dished out one assist. Sophomore Graham Bundy Jr. and reigning US Lacrosse National player of the Week Jake Carraway each tallied a hat trick for the Hoyas.
The Red Storm will return to DaSilva Memorial Field Saturday, March 6, to host Denver. Opening face-off is set for 12 pm.
