Men’s Golf Concludes Day One of Wildcat Fall Invitational

Gage Wolfle leads the way for St. John’s after 36 holes
The St. John's men's golf team finished day one of the Wildcat Fall Invitational, posting a 36-hole total of 603 to rank eighth in the standings at Radnor Valley Country Club on Monday.
Delaware paced the field with a two-round 1-over 561 to sit four-strokes clear of second place Drexel. The Blue Hens' Roberto Nieves holds the individual lead, shooting a 7-under 133 on the day.
Leading the way for St. John's is junior Gage Wolfle, who finished inside the top-25 after two rounds of action. Wolfle opened up play with a low-round 73 before signing off on a 76 over the final 18 holes. The Sewell, N.J., native drained a trio of birdies on the afternoon with all three coming in the opening round.
Seniors Tyler Gerbavsits and Jack Simon sit two-strokes back of Wolfle in a tie for 28th overall in the standings. Gerbavsits wrapped up play with scores off 76 and 75, while Simon carded a 74 and 77 on the day.
Thomas Stafford rounded out scoring for the Red Storm, signing off on a 74 and 78.
St. John's will return to action tomorrow morning for the final round of play. The Johnnies are slated to tee off at 8 a.m. on the par 70 6,572-yard course.
