St. John’s alumnus claims his fifth PGA TOUR victory
Â
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's alumnus and Hall of Famer Keegan Bradley captured his fifth career victory on the PGA TOUR this weekend, carding a final-round 68 to win the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP in Inzai City, Japan.
Â
Bradley entered the final round at 13 under, one shot behind 54-hole leader Rickie Fowler. He shot two under over his final 18 holes at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, beating out Fowler and Andrew Putnam by one stroke.Â
Â
Bradley, a 2020 inductee in the St. John's Athletics Hall of Fame, claimed his first win on tour since the 2018 BMW Championship. He won his first tour event less than three years removed from ending his collegiate career in Queens, winning the 2011 Byron Nelson in Texas. Later that season, he won his first major in just his first opportunity, outlasting Jason Dufner in a playoff at the 2011 PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club. The following year, Bradley won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.Â
Â
A native of Woodstock, Vt., Bradley has competed for the United States three times in international competition, making the team for the 2012 and 2014 Ryder Cups and the 2013 Presidents Cup.
