Johnnies will start BIG EAST play on March 30, against Villanova
PRINCETON, N.J. (March 26, 2022)- The St. John's men's tennis team fell to no. 36 Princeton on Saturday afternoon, 6-1.
Axel Vila Antuna and Ignacio Garcia notched the lone Red Storm (11-3) doubles win on the no. 1 court. The two-time reigning BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week grabbed a 6-2 over the Tigers Thomas Barki and Justin Bostansic. Princeton (14-5) claimed the other two matches to tally the doubles point.
In singles, the home side took five of six matches at Jadwin Gymnasium. Junior Giuseppe De Camelis captured a three-set match over Princeton's Bill Duo 6-1, 7-5, 8-8, that was retired during the tiebreak. The Trani, Italy native has compiled an impressive six-match winning streak.
The Johnnies will start BIG EAST play on Wednesday afternoon when they head to Villanova. The contest is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
