St. John's (14-3, 5-3 BIG EAST) looks to get back in the win column after a pair of setbacks to nationally ranked opponents last week. After falling to UConn at UBS Arena on Wednesday, the Red Storm narrowly lost at Villanova, 64-61, this past weekend. The Red Storm led for 36:12 of the game at Finneran Pavilion but were unable to fend off the Wildcats' late comeback.

St. John's holds an 11-game winning streak inside the friendly confines of Carnesecca Arena, dating back to last season. The stretch sits one win shy of tying the program record, when the Johnnies won 12 consecutive in their home building during the 2019-10 and 1977-78 seasons.
The Golden Eagles (11-6, 4-4 BIG EAST) make the trip from Milwaukee having lost three of its last five but are fresh off a resounding 80-57 home win over Providence on Saturday.
Senior Jordan King has sparked the offensive production for Marquette scoring a team-high 15.9 points on 41.3 percent shooting. The crafty guard ranks fourth in the league in assists with 4.1 per outing. Chloe Marotta also adds a significant boost, averaging 13.2 points per game. She has excelled from the charity stripe, where the guard shoots a league best 91.1 percent.
During the last meeting between the two programs, Kadaja Bailey became the 28th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark on Feb. 27, 2022, in a 79-75 Golden Eagles' win. The guard has totaled 1,277 points in her career and sits just six shy of moving into the top-15 all-time in St. John's history.
In recent years, Marquette and St. John's have played in tight contests as three out of the last four meetings have been decided by five points or fewer. The last win for St. John's against its league competitor came on Feb. 15, 2019, when it defeated then-no. 8/7 Marquette, 81-74.
