St. John’s Readies for Boston College in NABC Brooklyn Showcase at Barclays Center

The Red Storm men’s basketball team carries a four-game win streak into its matchup with the Eagles on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. on ESPNU
QUEENS, N.Y. – Fresh off its fourth straight victory, the St. John's men's basketball team will look to extend its winning streak on Sunday when it takes on Boston College in the NABC Brooklyn Showcase at 4:30 p.m. inside Barclays Center.
A national telecast for the St. John's (6-2, 0-0) and Boston College (7-3, 0-1) matchup will air live on ESPNU with Kevin Brown and Cory Alexander calling the action from Brooklyn. An audio broadcast of the game on the LEARFIELD Red Storm Sports Network with John Minko and Tarik Turner will also be available on a variety of platforms including the Varsity Network App, TuneIn Radio, RedStormSports.com and the St. John's Red Storm mobile app. The radio broadcast can also be heard on SiriusXM channel 390 and the SiriusXM App.
St. John's enters its contest with the Eagles coming off an 85-50 victory over Sacred Heart on Wednesday at Carnesecca Arena. Joel Soriano shined for the Red Storm, as the 6-foot-11 center went for 18 points, 13 rebounds, a career-high six assists and two blocks in just 24 minutes of action. Jordan Dingle added 17 points on 7-for-11 shooting, while Daniss Jenkins posted 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals in the rout.
Following its victory over Sacred Heart, the Red Storm jumped 23 spots in the NCAA's NET Rankings on Thursday, climbing to No. 59. St. John's is one of six BIG EAST teams in the top-60 in the NET and ranks just a few spots behind Villanova (No. 55) and Butler (No. 56).
Over its recent four-game win streak, the Johnnies have averaged 86.5 points, shooting 48.0 percent from the field, and hit 9.8 3-pointers per contest. Soriano has paced St. John's with 17.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game in his last four starts. Fellow starters Dingle (14.0 ppg), Chris Ledlum (14.0 ppg) and Jenkins (10.0 ppg) are also averaging double figures in the scoring column during the win streak.
Sunday's contest in Brooklyn begins a stretch for the Red Storm with its next three contests played in three different New York City boroughs. After its matchup with Boston College, the Johnnies will return to Madison Square Garden to host Fordham on Dec. 16 as part of a Holiday Festival tripleheader. Then on Dec. 20 in Queens, St. John's will take on Xavier in its BIG EAST opener at Carnesecca Arena.
The Red Storm will make its 11th all-time appearance at Barclays Center where it owns an 8-2 record since the venue opened in 2012. St. John's has won its last four games in Brooklyn and captured a pair of tournament titles on the Brooklyn Nets' home court, earning the 2018 Legends Classic title and the 2022 Empire Classic championship.
One of St. John's most frequently played opponents, the Red Storm will take on the Eagles for the 74th time in series history. St. John's owns a 46-27 record against its former BIG EAST opponent, including a 9-3 edge in neutral site games.
