Men’s Tennis Cruises Past Boston U., 5-2

The Red Storm extends its winning streak to seven matches
QUEENS, N.Y. (Feb. 18, 2023) – St. John's men's tennis team cruised to a 5-2 victory against Boston U. at USTA Tennis Center on Saturday night.
The Red Storm (9-1) owns a seven match winning streak.
In doubles play, the Johnnies earned the point on two match victories. The duo of Ryota Kaneda and Adam Groves won at No. 3 doubles, 6-2 against Adrian Pawlowski and Johann Sajonz, improving to a team-best 5-1 on the season. At No. 2 doubles the tandem of Carl Gustafsson and Anton Stendal improved to 4-1 on the season by earning a 6-3 victory against Cole Knutsen and Jonah Dickson.
In singles play, Kaneda and Gustafsson earned their second wins of the day. Kaneda defeated Ben Letzer, 6-3, 6-4 and Gustafsson won 6-3, 6-3, against Dion Loutas. Sergio Molina improved his perfect record to 8-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Corey Craig.
St. John's will play a pair of matches next week starting with a road match against Penn State on Wednesday. The Johnnies will close the weekend at Old Dominion on Sunday.
