Leyre Campo de Quevedo paced the Red Storm with a 21:51.8 finish for 33rd place
BRONX, N.Y. – The St. John's cross country team finished up competition against the best of the Northeast at the ECAC Championship at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y., on Friday morning.
Two Johnnies secured personal-best finishes in the team's second race at Van Cortlandt park this season. .
For the fourth straight contest to start her collegiate career, Leyre Campo de Quevedo led the Red Storm by finishing the 6K race with a personal record mark of 21:51.8 for 33rd place. Ezgi Yasar followed behind the Spain native, finishing the race in 22:28.6 for 60th overall.
Cristina Stanescu produced a 25:21.1 finishing time for third place on St. John's and 219th at the meet. Brenin Mahon rounded out the Johnnies' day at Van Cortlandt Park by pacing the course in a collegiate-best time of 26:23.6, coming in 238th place.
St. John's will return to action in two weeks when it travels to Leesburg, Va., on Nov. 1 for the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship.
