St. John’s Prepares for the Fordham Fall Invitational

The Red Storm will compete over three days in The Bronx
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's tennis team will continue its 2024 fall slate this weekend, jumping from Queens to The Bronx to participate in the Fordham Fall Invitational.
The Red Storm's second competition of the fall season will begin Oct. 4 and run through Sunday, Oct. 6. The Johnnies will face off against student-athletes from Army, FDU, host Fordham, Hofstra, NJIT, Stonehill, Stony Brook and Yale.
Last weekend, the squad hit the courts for the first time this season, winning 10 matches at the UMass Fall Invitational in Amherst, Mass.
Sandra Dzhambazov and Giulia Bizzari impressed in their St. John's debuts, each winning a pair of singles matches. Junior Victoria Papadopoulou had a strong start to her second year in Queens, also picking up two singles victories. The Johnnies also got winning results in singles play from sophomores Noemi Babikova and Nicoline Sartz-Lunde as well as senior Alicia Gomez.
The Johnnies last participated in the Rams' fall invitational back in 2022.
Following this weekend's action in the Bronx, the Red Storm will return to action on Oct. 10-15 at the ITA Northeast Regionals at Yale in Philadelphia.
