St. John’s to Square Off with Georgetown on Wednesday

FS1 will carry the national broadcast live from Capital One Arena at 7 p.m.
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday for a matchup with Georgetown inside Capital One Arena. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
Wednesday's contest between the Red Storm (14-12, 6-9) and Hoyas (8-17, 1-13) will be aired nationally on FS1 with Alex Faust and Tarik Turner on the call. An audio broadcast of the game on the LEARFIELD Red Storm Sports Network with John Minko and Vin Parise will also be available on a variety of platforms including the Varsity Network App, TuneIn Radio, RedStormSports.com and the St. John's Red Storm mobile app. The radio broadcast can also be heard on SiriusXM channel 388 and the SiriusXM App.
St. John's will try for its sixth-straight victory over Georgetown on Wednesday. The Red Storm has come away with wins in its last two trips to Washington, D.C. The Johnnies earned a 90-77 victory on Feb. 3, 2022, inside McDonough Arena before posting a 79-70 win on Feb. 22, 2023, at Capital One Arena. In those two contests, Joel Soriano averaged 15.0 points (13-15 FG) and 8.5 rebounds per game.
The Johnnies will also look to snap a three-game slide and earn its seventh conference win of the season. In seven BIG EAST road games, Daniss Jenkins has helped lead the Red Storm, as the 6-foot-4 point guard is averaging 17.0 points while shooting 42.7 percent from the field. The Dallas native has averaged 20.0 points and 2.3 threes in the team's last three road games.
Wednesday's matchup will mark the 123rd all-time meeting between St. John's and Georgetown, the Red Storm's third-most frequent opponent. The Johnnies hold a 65-57 edge over the Hoyas in series history.
Georgetown has dropped 10-straight contests and looks for its first victory since defeating DePaul, 68-65, on Jan. 6 at Capital One Arena. Supreme Cook led the Hoyas with 14 points while Ismael Massoud added 13 points in the victory over the Blue Demons. Rowan Brumbaugh (3-6 3FG) and Jayden Epps (2-7 3FG) also combined for five of the team's eight 3-pointers.
In BIG EAST games, Epps has led the team averaging 16.0 points and 3.9 assists per game. Cook has posted 12.1 points per game and leads the Hoyas with 8.0 rebounds in conference play.
Following its matchup with Georgetown, the Red Storm will return to Madison Square Garden on Sunday to host No. 15/15 Creighton at 12 p.m. St. John's will hold a whiteout for the matchup as part of the University's second annual Johnnies Day celebration.
