CLEVELAND, Ohio – St. John's women's basketball standout Unique Drake was selected to compete in Women's College Senior All-Star Game at the Final Four in Cleveland, Ohio.
Drake was selected from a pool of over 50 of the nation's top senior players and will play amongst the nation's best at the Wolstein Center on the campus of Cleveland State on Saturday, April 6.
The all-star game, which was reintroduced this year for the first time since 2006, will air on ESPN2 at 3:30 p.m.
The two teams will be coached by Naismith Basketball Hall of Famers Nancy Lieberman and Cheryl Miller. The final rosters will be announced next week.
In her fifth and final year with the program, Drake excelled as the team's primary scoring option increasing her scoring average by nearly double-digits from 8.6 to 18.4 points per game. The redshirt senior ranked third in the BIG EAST in scoring and held the highest scoring average by a Red Storm player since Danejah Grant in 2015-16.
After being named the BIG EAST Sixth-Woman of the Year last season, Drake over the reigns as the team's leader and was named a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection in 2023-24. Throughout the season, the veteran racked up awards and was twice named BIG EAST and Metropolitan Basketball Writers' Association Player of the Week. She garnered five weekly honor roll nods from the league.
Last week in the WBIT First Round, the Columbia, S.C., native put on one of the most prolific scoring performances in program history going for a career-high 37 points in a 79-60 victory over Florida in Gainesville. Her career night ranks third-most on the program's single-game scoring list and was the most since Cozette Ballentine poured in 40 on Feb. 16, 1991. Drake finished the year with four 30-plus point performances.
Drake was dynamite from downtown for the Johnnies sinking 79 triples in 33 games. She ranked second in the BIG EAST in 3-pointers made and third in St. John's history for most triples made in a single-season.
