The Red Storm attackman becomes the fifth player in program history to earn the honor
LOUISVILLE, KY. – St. John's lacrosse's Bobby Seel has been named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-American.
The USILA announced its list of recipients late last week, recognizing the top student-athletes with senior academic standing in the nation for their academic and athletic performance. In addition to holding senior academic standing, a student-athlete must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be an All-American, Senior All-Star Game participant or all-conference selection to qualify for the prestigious award.
Seel, who recently completed his third season in Queens, becomes just the fifth player in program history to earn the honor, joining Dylan Willis (2022), Aidan Marron (2019), Mark DiFrangia (2015) and Brian Bugge (1992).
The Garden City, N.Y., native has excelled in the classroom this season, finishing with a 3.91 GPA for the 2023-24 academic year. Seel completed his undergraduate degree in just three years, graduating this past May with a 3.85 cumulative mark.
In addition to his academic success, Seel enjoyed a breakout campaign on the field in 2024. The attackman set career-bests with 41 points and 25 goals, both second most on the team. His 16 assists led the Red Storm this season and also set a new career high. Seel recorded at least one point in each of the Johnnies' 15 games this season and had 12 multi-point performances.
In the Red Storm's 13-6 triumph over Binghamton on March 6, Seel produced a career-best six points on four goals and two helpers. The three-year letterwinner was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team this season.
