Keegan Bradley Named United States Captain for 2025 Ryder Cup

Bradley will become youngest captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963
PALM BEACH, Fla.– St. John's alumnus Keegan Bradley was named the United States Captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup, PGA of America President John Lindert announced on Monday.
Bradley will lead the United States at the 45th Ryder Cup, which will be held at the Bethpage Black Course in nearby Farmingdale, N.Y. on Sept. 26-28, 2025.
"I am incredibly honored to accept this opportunity to captain the United States Team at the 2025 Ryder Cup," Bradley said in a statement released by the PGA of America. "I would like to thank the PGA of America Ryder Cup Committee for their trust in me as we embark on this journey to Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York."
Bradley becomes the 31st captain dating back to the inception of the bi-annual match play competition between the United States and Europe in 1927, joining the likes of American golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead and Walter Hagen.
The Woodstock, Vt., native, who will be 39 at the time of the event will become youngest captain since 34-year old Arnold Palmer in 1963.
Bradley has made two Ryder Cup appearances and owns a career record of 4-3. He made his debut in 2012 at Medinah Country Club in Illinois. The former Johnnie competed for the team once again in 2014 at Gleneagles in Scotland.
During his decorated professional career, Bradley has tallied eight victories worldwide and logged 58 top-10 finishes, highlighted by a major win at the 2011 PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club.
At St. John's, Bradley starred in Queens under Head Coach Frank Darby from 2004-08, totaling nine individual victories during his career, which ranks second-best in program history. While with the Red Storm, he finished no lower than ninth at the BIG EAST Championship and earned an at-large bid to NCAA Regionals during his senior year. In 2020, Bradley was enshrined into the St. John's Athletics Hall of Fame
Bradley is no stranger to Bethpage State Park, as the "The Doc Gimmler", St. John's home golf tournament is held their annually. The event is set to make a return the prestigious Black Course for the first time in 28 years during this year's tournament coming in September.
