Women’s Golf Prepares for UAlbany Great Danes Invitational

Red Storm ready for two-round event at Normanside Country Club
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's golf team will prepare for the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational on Oct. 12-13 at Normanside Country Club in Delmar, N.Y.
The Johnnies will begin play tomorrow with a 12:30 shotgun start. Monday's final round will tee off in groups between 8-10 a.m. Live scoring will be available throughout the event on SCOREBOARD.
The Red Storm will compete in a 15-team field, that includes eight schools from New York State. The UAlbany Great Danes Invitational participants include- Boston University, FDU, Hofstra, Holy Cross, Iona, Le Moyne, Merrimack, Niagara, Seton Hall, Siena, Stonehill, the hosts UAlbany and Union.
The Red Storm line-up will feature Laura Mizlerova, Kelly Wu, Cathilyn Lee, Lily Huynh and Pihla Pennanen. Charlotte Roodenburg and Kirsten Lee will compete as individuals.
In its last tournament, St. John's finished seventh at the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club last weekend. Mizlerova tallied a team-best 17th place finish after shooting a 9-over, 222, highlighted by an even par second round.
Last year at this event, the Red Storm tied for fifth place in the 12-team field. Xuan Khue Minh Doan and Karen Beglin led the way for St. John's both finishing in the top-six on the leaderboard.
Following the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational, St. John's will wrap up its fall slate next weekend at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
