Red Storm to close fall competition in Buffalo, N.Y.
QUEENS, N.Y. — The St. John's women's tennis team heads to upstate New York for the Buffalo Indoor Invite for its final fall competition of 2025.
The squad is set to travel to the University of Buffalo and compete in the two-day invitational beginning Friday. The event wraps up on Saturday as the Johnnies look to close out a strong fall campaign.
This is the third consecutive year the Red Storm will wrap up their fall slate at Buffalo's Indoor Invite. Last November, St. John's tallied 16 total victories, highlighted by Noemi Babikova's four combined wins in singles and doubles play. Alicia Gomez and Giulia Bizzari also impressed, going a perfect 3-0 as a doubles pairing.
This will be the first time the Red Storm have appeared in competition since winning six matches at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regionals on Oct. 9-13 in Philadelphia. Senior captain Charlotta Buss and sophomore Bizzari paced the Johnnies, teaming up for a commanding Round of 64 doubles victory. The duo each added three total wins on the weekend to cap off a strong showing for St. John's.
Following this weekend's competition in Upstate New York, the Red Storm will prepare for the start of dual-match play in January.
