St. John’s Earns Three Top-25 Finishes at October 2025 North American Cup

The Red Storm secured first-, ninth- and 21st-place finishes in Salt Lake City.
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH — St. John's fencing had three representatives at the October North American Cup (NAC) on Oct. 6 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, each boasting top-25 finishes.
Sophomore epee Samuel Imrek claimed gold in Division I Men's Epee, while sophomore saber Darri Lukashenko and junior epee Daniil Mazur finished ninth and 21st place in their respective divisions.
Imrek, a 2024-25 First-Team All-American selection, appeared in all five regular season meets last season, totaling 39 wins en route to a No. 7 global ranking.
Lukashenko, also a First-Team All-American selection in 2024-25, recorded 46 wins across five regular season meets as a freshman. He defeated Notre Dame's Ahmed Hesham and Radu Nitu to earn the Men's Saber National Title at the NCAA Championships on March 21.
Mazur notched 22 victories in three regular season meets last season, including five at the Temple Invitational on Feb. 23. He later won the men's epee at the NCAA Northeast Regional on March 9 and placed 15th in the same event at the NCAA Championships.
All three student athletes return to the Red Storm for the 2025-26 season. The schedule for the upcoming campaign will be released at a later date.
