Darii Lukashenko Earns Silver Medal at November 2025 North American Cup

The sophomore saber captured his first NAC medal of the 2025-26 season
QUEENS, N.Y. — St. John's sophomore saber Darii Lukashenko earned silver in the Division I Men's Saber bracket at the 2025 November North American Cup in Fort Worth, Texas, on Nov. 14.
Seeded No. 31 in a field of 256 fencers after receiving a first-round bye, Lukashenko first drew No. 95T Ethan Hublall of the Globus Fencing Academy. Lukashenko secured a 15-7 victory, gaining a matchup with No. 95T Maklin Edward of the Dynamo Fencing Center Inc. Once again, the sophomore saber prevailed, this time defeating his opponent 15-3 en route to a table of 32 berth.
In a back-and-forth tilt, Lukashenko took down No. 66 Shaun Kim of the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club, 15-13, to move to the table of 16. Upon advancing, Lukashenko competed in another tight-knit contest, ultimately upsetting No. 15 Wade Hjerpe of the Phoenix Fencing Academy, 15-11.
In the table of eight, Lukashenko met No. 42 Junhyeong Kim out of Colorado, picking up a narrow 15-14 win to advance to the semifinals.
Representing the Manhattan Fencing Center, Lukashenko placed second overall, narrowly trailing No. 57 William Morrill of the Scarsdale Fencing Center Fencers Club Inc., who claimed first place. No. 3T Neil Lilov of the Lilov Fencing Academy and No. 101 Daniel Holz of the Premier Fencing Academy tied for third place.
Lukashenko's successful showing marked his first podium finish of the 2025-26 season and sixth silver medal of his career. He rose seven places from his performance at the Oct. 5 North American Cup in Salt Lake City, Utah, where Lukashenko finished ninth in a field of 216 fencers.
The First-Team All-American and 2025 Men's Saber Individual National Champion begins his sophomore campaign with the Red Storm when St. John's travels to Brooklyn for LIU's Shark Tank Challenge on Nov. 23.
