Nowak recognized among the conference’s top players ahead of 2026 season
NEW YORK (Jan. 20, 2025) — St. John's lacrosse redshirt junior Adrian Nowak was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the first preseason honor for Nowak, and the third player under fourth year Head Coach Justin Turri to receive this honor, joining 2025 preseason all-conference selections Bobby Seel and Brian Kelly.
Last season, the redshirt junior surpassed the 40-point mark, recording 24 goals and 20 assists while starting all 15 games. The Wantagh, N.Y., native earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors for his standout performance against NJIT on Feb. 8, tallying 10 points, including three goals and seven assists, tying a program record since reinstatement in St. John's 15–14 victory over the Highlanders.
Nowak finished the season with 10 multi-point games, including four contests with at least four points. The attackman ranked second on the team in goals (24), assists (20), and points (44), and finished sixth in the BIG EAST with 1.3 assists per game. On March 15 against Mercer, he posted a career-high six goals on nine shots, setting personal bests in both statistical categories.
The Red Storm were picked sixth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, while seven-time defending champion Georgetown earned the top spot. The full preseason coaches' poll and All-BIG EAST Team are listed below.
St. John's 2026 campaign will get underway on Feb. 7 when it hosts NJIT at 1 p.m. at Cox Family Field at Belson Stadium.
