St. John’s Closes Play at Stetson Invitational Defeating Columbia, 9-7

The Red Storm finishes the weekend 3-2
DELAND, Fla. (Feb. 22, 2026) — The St. John's softball team improved to 12-3 with a 9-7 win over Columbia (0-9, 0-0 Ivy League) on Sunday morning on the final day of the Stetson Invitational at Patricia Wilson Field.
St. John's finished with 11 hits and seven RBIs, led by multi-hit efforts from Jess Bianco and Alyssa Platero. Ana Serafinko earned the win in relief, working 3.2 innings and allowing two runs on six hits with five strikeouts.
Bianco went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. London Slade added a hit and two runs. Platero finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Ava Fierst totaled two RBIs and one run. Natasha Limbani recorded one hit, one RBI and one run scored, and Bianca Lobosco contributed the two-RBI single in the bottom of the sixth.
The Lions opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning on a pair of run-producing ground balls. St. John's answered in the second when Sarah Post singled and scored on an RBI single to right from Platero.
The Red Storm moved ahead with a four-run third inning. Bianco singled to start, Slade was hit by a pitch and Limbani followed with an RBI single to left that scored Bianco. Cassidy Stouffer delivered an RBI double to center, and Fierst added a two-run double to deep center to give St. John's a 5-2 advantage.
Columbia tied the game with three runs in the fourth and moved ahead 6-5 in the fifth on an RBI single to right field.
St. John's answered with a four-run sixth inning. Fierst walked, Elanna Lysiak reached on a fielder's choice and Madison Konopka singled to load the bases. Bianco followed with an infield single before Slade reached on a throwing error that allowed Lysiak and Konopka to score.
Lobosco lined a two-run single to left center to bring home Bianco and Slade, extending the Johnnies' lead to 9-6.
Columbia added a run in the seventh, but Serafinko closed the door to secure the win.
Having closed out play at the Stetson Invitational, St. John's will play at The Battle at the Max, hosted by East Carolina, from Feb. 27-March 1 in Greenville, N.C. The Johnnies battle with Campbell twice, East Carolina twice and Rider once at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.
