NEW YORK – Following an 11-point week, St. John's attackman Noah Plenn was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
The honors mark the first weekly awards of Plenn's career, following standout performances in victories over Quinnipiac (Feb. 17) and Hofstra (Feb. 21).
Plenn becomes the first Red Storm player to earn BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week recognition since March 17, 2025, when Brian Kelly received the honor for his performances against Rutgers (March 11, 2025) and Mercer (March 15, 2025).
The Cape May, N.J. native, made program history, recording the highest point total by a freshman since St. John's reinstatement in 2005 with a standout performance against Quinnipiac. The redshirt freshman tallied five goals on nine shots on goal while adding three assists against the Bobcats. He followed that effort with a goal and two assists in the Red Storm's 9-8 comeback victory over Hofstra.
Following a dominant week that helped the Red Storm secure two key victories and improve to 2-2 on the season, the Delaware transfer now leads the team with 19 points and 11 goals, while adding eight assists through four games. He also paces the Johnnies with 25 shots on goal.
Plenn ranks among the top freshmen in NCAA Division I, sitting third nationally with 4.75 points per game and in total points. Additionally, he ranks fifth amongst collegiate newcomers in total goals.
The Delaware transfer will look to continue his strong play this weekend as the Red Storm seek its third consecutive victory when it travels to Lafayette. Faceoff from Easton, Pa. is set for 4 p.m.
