St. John’s Prepare for Three-Match Weekend Slate

Red Storm Travel to Cleveland to Face Cleveland State, Butler and Xavier
QUEENS, N.Y. (Feb. 26, 2026) – The St. John's men's tennis team will travel to Cleveland, Ohio, for a three-match weekend slate, opening against host Cleveland State on Friday before beginning BIG EAST play against Butler on Saturday and Xavier on Sunday.
First serve on Friday is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. start on Saturday and a 10 a.m. match on Sunday. All matches will be played at the Medical Mutual Pavilion.
The Johnnies enter the weekend following a trio of victories over Adelphi, Binghamton and VCU to improve to 6-1 on the season. The duo of Adam Groves and Semen Agynskyy earned their second BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week honor after posting a perfect 3-0 mark. The pair now improves to 5-0 on the season.

The Red Storm hold a 7-0 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to 2014, with the most recent meeting coming in April 2021 when St. John's earned a postseason victory.
Xavier is led by freshman Bode Campbell, who holds a 4-4 record in singles play and a 2-4 mark in doubles. Campbell enters the weekend on a three-match winning streak in singles competition. The Musketeers are coming off a successful 2025 where they reached the BIG EAST Tournament semifinal where they fell to Creighton, 4-1.
