St. John’s to Open BIG EAST Road Play at Georgetown

The Red Storm travels to the nation’s capital for a three-game series with the Hoyas
QUEENS, N.Y. (March 19, 2026) — The St. John's softball team will travel to Washington, D.C., for a three-game BIG EAST series against Georgetown from March 20-22 at the Mount Vernon Softball Complex. All contests will be streamed live on YouTube with live stats available on RedStormSports.com.
St. John's (20-8, 1-2 BIG EAST) holds a 26-12 advantage in the all-time series against Georgetown and has won nine of the last 11 meetings between the two programs, including a three-game sweep in Queens during the 2025 season.
The Red Storm return to action following a 7-3 victory over Fordham on March 18 in the Bronx. St. John's has now won five straight games, outscoring its opponents 33-13 during that stretch.
Ana Serafinko powered the Red Storm in the midweek win, recording a career-high five RBIs, highlighted by a grand slam, while also striking out four batters across three innings of relief. The senior was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season and the sixth time in her career after recording two victories and a save during a 4-0 weekend.
In the circle, Serafinko continues to rank among the nation's best, sitting second in NCAA Division I with 145 strikeouts and fifth nationally with 10 complete games. The senior also leads the BIG EAST in innings pitched (99.1) and victories (10).
Loreley Francia has also been a key contributor, recording seven complete games this season, which ranks 25th in NCAA Division I. The senior enters the weekend with 495 career strikeouts, just five shy of the 500 mark.
As a staff, St. John's ranks 11th in NCAA Division I in strikeouts per seven innings (7.73) and leads the BIG EAST in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.34). The Red Storm also lead the conference with a 3.26 team ERA and have recorded three shutouts this season.
Offensively, St. John's has continued to produce, totaling seven runs on nine hits in the midweek victory over Fordham. Mya Laroya recorded her first career multi-hit game with two hits and two runs scored, while Jess Bianco added two hits and London Slade chipped in a run scored.
Bianco leads the BIG EAST with 39 hits this season and has totaled 104 career stolen bases, which ranks third among active NCAA Division I players. Slade has also been one of the toughest hitters to strike out in the country, ranking fifth in NCAA Division I in that category.
Elanna Lysiak ranks sixth among the national leaders with four triples this season, while the Red Storm rank 27th nationally in triples per game (0.36), which sits second in the BIG EAST.
St. John's is one of just four teams in NCAA Division I to record a triple play this season alongside Boise State, Loyola Chicago and Grambling.
