QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's tennis team will travel to the Bronx on Saturday for a matinee matchup against No. 40 Yale (12–5, 0–0 Ivy League). First serve from the Cary Leeds Center is set for 1 p.m.
The Red Storm improved to 13–2 (3–0 BIG EAST) with a 6–0 sweep of Monmouth on Tuesday, marking their 10th win over the last 11 matches.
In a singles-only format, St. John's claimed all six courts, with Radomir Tomic clinching the match on the top court. Victories from Venedikt Tsirikidze, Adam Groves, Semen Agynskyy, Sergej Zivkovic and David Petrovic rounded out the dominant performance.
Yale enters Saturday's contest riding a three-match winning streak, having won five of its last six matches to improve to 12–5 overall. After opening the season 6–1, the Bulldogs dropped three of four before regaining momentum during their current stretch.
The Bulldogs are led by Vignesh Gogineni, who finished the 2025 season ranked No. 3 in the New England region in singles. Gogineni posted a 19–6 overall record in singles play while also compiling a 15–4 mark in doubles, earning a berth in the NCAA Division I Singles Championship.
Saturday's contest will mark the 19th all-time meeting between the two programs dating back to 2008, and the fifth consecutive season the teams will face off. Last year, the Red Storm earned a 5–2 victory over Yale in West Haven, Conn.
Following Saturday's match, St. John's will travel to Philadelphia to take on No. 42 Penn. First serve from the Hamlin/Hecht Tennis Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.
