St. John’s to Host California Baptist for Three-Game Series

The Red Storm and the Lancers met for the first time in program history
QUEENS, N.Y. (March 26, 2026) – The St. John's baseball team will host California Baptist for a three-game series starting on Friday at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
Game one on Friday is set for 3 p.m., at the team will host its "2 for $4 Hot Dog" promotion. Saturday's contests at 2 p.m. features "First Responders Appreciation Day". Fans in attendance will receive a camo beanie. The series finale will start at 11 a.m. for Youth Day. All three games will be available to watch on RedStormTV.
St. John's (10-14) split its midweek home-away series against FDU and Marist. The Red Storm fell to the Knights 12-5 at home on Tuesday but bounced back to take a 15-10 road victory over the Red Foxes on Wednesday.
In Tuesday's contest, the Knights used a five-run eighth inning to pull away and take the win over St. John's. Thomas Harding made his first collegiate start, going three innings while striking out three, and Brady Clark provided a strong relief outing with 2.2 innings of one-run ball. Adam Agresti led the offense, slugging a 427-foot home run in the second and scoring three times, while Jon LeGrande, Jayder Raifstangerand Sean McMillan each added a hit from the top of the order. The Red Storm trimmed the deficit to one in the fifth but couldn't sustain the rally, as a five-run FDU eighth put the game out of reach.
The Johnnies secured its second series sweep of the season with a 15-10 win over Marist, using early five-run and four-run innings to build a lead before holding off a late push. The Red Storm saw Marist cut the deficit to one in the eighth but responded with a four-run ninth to put the game away. Will Cowan led the way with a perfect 3-for-3 effort, tying a career high with three RBIs, while Dylan Fitzsimmons set a season high with three RBIs of his own on his first collegiate triple, as eight players scored. Tommy Conley earned his first win of the year, and the bullpen pair of Dylan Johnson and Tyler Longoria combined for 3.1 scoreless innings, with Longoria locking down the save.
As a team, St. John's owns a .974 fielding percentage, ranking second in the conference and 82nd nationally. The bullpen has also been strong, sitting second in the BIG EAST with a 1.55 WHIP and allowing just 8.79 hits per nine innings.
Individually, Liam O'Leary holds a 2.39 ERA across six starts, good for second in the BIG EAST and 82nd nationally. Agresti has hit nine home runs with a 1.152 OPS percentage, all while leading the league with 1.13 RBIs per game. Rodriguez tops the BIG EAST and ranks 18th nationally with five sacrifice bunts, followed by Sean Britt, whose four bunts place him second in the conference and 45th in the country. On the basepaths, Jon LeGrande has stolen 10 bases, averaging 0.48 per game, which ranks third in the league.
St. John's and CBU (21-5) will meet for the first time in program history. So far this season, the Red Storm hold a 4-2 record within the friendly confines of Jack Kaiser Stadium.
California Baptist rolled to a 12-1 win over UC Riverside at Totman Stadium. The Lancers hold a 7-3 record on the road, most recently going 3-1 on their last road trip.
As a team, CBU leads the WAC in several categories while also ranking among the nation's best, including a .320 batting average (20th), 294 hits (4th), 68 doubles (3rd). On the mound, the Lancers boast a 3.21 ERA, ranking eighth nationally, to go along with two shutouts.
Bryce McFeely has emerged as a premier power bat for California Baptist, while pacing the WAC in doubles with 12 and hits with 40. He has also driven in 33 runs, which ranks second in the conference and 27th in the country. On the mound, Michael Malki has been a standout for the Lancers, leading the conference with five wins and ranks fifth in NCAA and allowing just 5.34 hits per nine across seven starts, tied for the third-most in Division I.
