The Johnnies continue conference play in the Windy City
QUEENS, N.Y. — St. John's softball heads to the Windy City this week for its second BIG EAST road series of the season, taking on DePaul from April 2-4. All three contests will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live stats available on RedStormSports.com.
The Red Storm have enjoyed recent success against the Blue Demons, sweeping each of the last two season series and posting a 6-0 record against DePaul dating back to 2024.
St. John's enters the weekend following a 1-2 weekend against Butler at home from March 27-29.
The Johnnies secured a 4-1 victory in game two of the series before dropping the finale in a narrow 9-8 defeat after nearly completing a late comeback. London Slade delivered one of the top performances of the weekend in the finale, recording her third four-hit game of the season, while Sarah Post matched her season high with three RBIs on three hits. Makenna Meadows also contributed two hits and two RBIs, both of which season career highs.
Following the series, Slade earned the first BIG EAST weekly recognition of her career, being named to the conference's Weekly Honor Roll on March 30. The Bowie, Md., native hit .583 across three starts during the week and extended her hit streak to nine games. Slade ranks second on the team with 46 hits and owns a .393 batting average while leading the Red Storm with seven sacrifice hits.

Francia reached a significant milestone on March 25, recording the 500th strikeout of her career in the bottom of the fifth inning of the Red Storm's midweek contest at Iona.
