The Johnnies aim to close the 2026 campaign on four match winning streak
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's tennis team will close out the regular season on Monday against Elon (5-12) in Camden, S.C. First serve from the Tennis Center of Camden is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Red Storm (16-5, 4-0 BIG EAST) enter the matchup riding a three-match winning streak, most recently earning a 4-0 victory over Fordham after sweeping Queens College and Georgetown. St. John's dropped just one point across those three contests.
Elon enters Monday's match having lost four of its last five, most recently falling to No. 69 Liberty after a 6-1 win over Campbell. The Phoenix opened the season with a victory over Saint Joseph's before facing nationally ranked opponents Duke and Texas A&M.
The Phoenix are led by Rafael Ymer, who holds an impressive 13-3 overall record, including a 12-3 mark at the No. 2 position. Ymer has also recorded a win on the top court this season.
Last year, Elon posted an 11-8 record, including a perfect 3-0 mark in CAA play, advancing to the conference championship match before falling to top-seeded UNC Wilmington, 4-2.
Monday's contest marks the second all-time meeting between the two programs, with the Johnnies earning a 4-0 victory in last season's matchup in Camden.
Following the regular season finale, St. John's will turn its focus to the postseason, as the BIG EAST Tournament, presented by Jeep, is set for April 16-19 in Cayce, S.C.
