The Johnnies will travel to Stony Brook before hosting Iona
QUEENS, N.Y. — The St. John's softball team is set for a pair of midweek matchups, traveling to Stony Brook on April 21 before returning home to host Iona the following day at Red Storm Field.
Tuesday's road contest against the Seawolves is scheduled for 2 p.m. at University Field and will stream on Flo College, with live stats available on RedStormSports.com. Wednesday's home matchup against the Gaels will be broadcast on ESPN+ and will also feature live stats via RedStormSports.com.
St. John's (27-19, 6-12 BIG EAST) enters the midweek slate following a three-game series against Creighton from April 17-18. Natasha Limbani highlighted the weekend, earning BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition on April 20 after batting .636 (7-for-11) across four starts, scoring four runs with a double and two RBIs while posting a .727 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage.
Prior to the Creighton series, the Red Storm secured a 9-2 victory over Manhattan on April 15 in Queens. Limbani led the offense with a 3-for-3 performance and two runs scored, while London Slade added two hits and an RBI. Loreley Francia earned her 13th win of the season, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits across five innings.
Francia is 13-8 on the season with nine complete games, both ranking second in the BIG EAST, and is tied for the conference lead with three shutouts. The senior also recorded the 500th strikeout of her career on March 25 against Iona.
Ana Serafinko continues to be one of the nation's top pitchers in 2026. The senior ranks third in NCAA Division I with 226 strikeouts and 11th nationally in strikeouts per seven innings (9.6). She leads the BIG EAST in victories (14), strikeouts (226), innings pitched (164), strikeouts per seven innings (9.6), ERA (2.82), hits allowed per seven innings (7.09) and complete games (18).
Offensively, St. John's is batting .303 with 393 hits and 230 runs scored through 46 games. Jess Bianco leads the team with a .372 average and 61 hits, which rank second in the BIG EAST and 38th nationally. Elanna Lysiak leads the team with 30 RBIs, while Limbani ranks second with 27. London Slade has totaled 56 hits, ranking third in the BIG EAST. Slade ranks 10th nationally in toughest to strike out, while Limbani ranks 37th.
As a staff, St. John's ranks 11th nationally in strikeouts per seven innings (7.48) and 30th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.20), both marks leading the BIG EAST. The Red Storm is also tied for first nationally with one triple play this season.
Stony Brook enters Tuesday's matchup after dropping three games to Hofstra from April 17-18. Rachael Brown ranks second in the CAA in slugging percentage (.661), while the Seawolves hold a .972 fielding percentage, second in the conference.
